Burlesque Photo Series with Sean Scheidt

Categories: News, Tags: , , , , ,

As part of the upcoming show and exhibition Workin’ the Tease: The Art of Baltimore Burlesque presented by the students of MICA’s Exhibition Design Seminar, the performers were invited to participate in photographer Sean Scheidt’s burlesque series documenting local burlesque performers in and out of costume. This is just one of the amazing photographs he took of me. I think it captures perfectly my persona as the Sweetheart of Dark. On Saturday, March 1st, I will be performing with some of Baltimore’s best burlesque performers at AREA 405 to raise funds to help support the Maryland Institute College of Art’s (MICA) Exhibition Development Seminar (EDS) presentation, “Workin’ the Tease: The Art of Baltimore Burlesque,” in partnership with the Modell Lyric Opera House. The ticketed fundraiser includes live burlesque performances by Mourna Handful, Cherie Nuit, Tapitha Kix, Sunny Sighed and Bal’d Lightning, and Hot and Bothered music, a themed dinner, and auctions of merchandise, memorabilia, and original artwork. Femme-cee for the evening is the exuberant Short Staxx and Sierra Ho and Kat Zotti from MICA’s burlesque troupe will serve as the stage kittens.

Proceeds from this event will help EDS further develop “Workin’ the Tease” and will kick off the celebration of Baltimore’s incredible burlesque scene. Tickets can be purchased here: http://eds.ticketleap.com/fundraiser/ . Please see the Facebook event page for updates.
